General Information
Conference is open to all counsellors, community educators and trainees (at any stage of
their training). Attending this conference is an excellent way of continuing ‘to strive for greater knowledge, skill and understanding in your role of leadership and in the discharge of your duties, and ensure that you maintain contact with other counsellors and community educators’ (Code
of Ethics 2.12) and to ensure that your own ‘knowledge of theory and practice is kept up to date' (Code of Ethics 2.12).
You will be able to meet new volunteers and renew old friendships, and discover more about our wonderful association and its connections across the state and territory. Remember one of the most important aspects of conference is the opportunity to network and chat with other attendees. This often happens in informal ways.
Billeting
Delegates who attend the conference from outside Adelaide may require billeting on the Sunday night. For example, if they can’t get a return flight later on Sunday or if they do not wish to travel long distances home on the Sunday.
If you can provide billeting for delegates and their children, or if you require billeting, please complete the relevant registration form.
Aunties
Delegates attending the conference with babies or children may like the support of an
Aunty. This involves lending a hand with children, for example at meal times, or while the mother takes a shower.
Delegates who are attending the conference for the first time may also like Aunty support, for example to make them feel welcome and to show them where things are.
If you would be willing to be an Aunty, or if you’d like Aunty support, please complete the relevant registration form.
Baby Equipment
Delegates attending the conference with babies or children, and travelling long distances, may like to borrow items such as cots, baby baths, high chairs or prams.
If you would be willing to loan equipment, or if you’d like to borrow equipment, please
complete the relevant registration form.
First Aid
A first aid kit will be available on site. However, please remember to bring any special equipment that you may require, e.g. Epipen or asthma inhaler.
